Mohler & Dobson on Obama & McCain
Dr. James Dobson and Dr. Albert Mohler discussed Senators Barack Obama and John McCain in a Focus on The Family radio broadcast scheduled to air today. It seems Dr. Dobson has shifted his position, and may endorse McCain.
Update: Having listened to the radio broadcast, I posted a summary and a few reflections.

Dr. Dobson has called abortion "murder" (Jan. 20, 2003 press release). He has said he would never vote for any politician who supports the killing of even one baby. John McCain is for exceptions, believing it's OK, it should remain "legal," to murder babies in the womb that are there because of rape/incest. Thus, there is no way Dr. Dobson can support/vote for McCain without shredding his own credibility and leaving himself open to the charge that he is a double-minded man (James 1:8) which, alas, he will have proven himself to be if he supports McCain.

I dont know if I would go so far as to argue the above,considering that we are all guilty of the same sin, but I suppose that one could argue that Dr. Dobson does make a case for holding your tounge in sticky situations.

John, you're right if your point is that Dobson never should have said he wouldn't vote for a politician that supports the killing of even one baby. Because with that policy, there are very few politicians that Dobson can vote for. And that is a real shame, because in a race like McCain vs. Obama, there is a real opportunity to make an *enormous* difference in what the law says about abortion.
